Moving funds to OP mainnet

Hey folks, trying to get some assets over to Optimism but kinda lost with all the options out there. Not sure which route has the lowest fees or if there’s a delay I should know about. Any pointers for a smooth transfer without getting ripped off on gas?

Fees can vary a lot depending on network congestion, so it pays to shop around before committing. The native optimism bridge is the most straightforward, withdrawals back to mainnet just take the standard seven day challenge period which is built into the protocol. It is one of the aggregators where you can see the route and fee estimate right there, just keep an eye on slippage if you are moving a larger bag.

Always keep a little ETH for gas on the destination chain before you bridge. Getting stuck with tokens on OP mainnet and zero ETH for the swap transaction is super annoying, and you would need to onboard more funds just to get unstuck.
